| Founded in 1932 to mobilize land less Métis, the Métis Nation of Alberta is the oldest of the associations within the Métis National Council. The MNA succeeded in negotiating The Métis Betterment Act to set aside settlement areas, making Alberta the only province with a Métis land base.
